As we approach the new year, I thought it would be a great time to look back on the exciting and successful year we've had here at E Fundamentals - and to look ahead to 2017.
First and foremost, 2016 was the year when we brought our service to market, pitched and won.
We were delighted to start relationships with 7 foundation clients in 2016, in most cases beating our competitors head-to-head. We are now working with Birds Eye, Nestle Purina, Edgewell (Wilkinson Sword), Dr Oetker, Pladis (formerly United Biscuits), All About Food and Jacobs Douwe Egberts.
As fundamentally commercial-minded people, we were very pleased by the outstanding results our clients have achieved by using our service - in fact Pladis UK reported sales growth of up to 37% on their key SKUs. We are now working on an ROI model to be launched in Q1 2017 which will help our clients understand the payback of the platform to a high degree of accuracy.
Second only to client success, technology has been our next most important advance in 2016. Our various innovations and releases throughout the year have helped E Fundamentals to become the most sophisticated eCommerce analytics platform available, anywhere. 2017 will see the release of more sector-busting features that will help our clients generate sales and profit in more and more user-friendly ways.
Above all, I think 2016 was the year when some of the most senior business people in the world recognised eCommerce analytics as a crucial success factor. We were pleased to see P&G global CEO and chairman David S. Taylor wrote in their annual report:
“Our brands need to have the right selection of products, in the right sizes, at the right value, in the right quantity, and in the right points of sale to win with shoppers online every day. Failure to effectively compete in growing sales channels and business models, particularly e-commerce, could negatively impact our results. ”
Looking ahead, I'm excited to announce a partnership with Italy's leading field marketing agency, Praesidium, who will be introducing our service to some of Italy's most prestigious businesses from January.
We've now outgrown our space in Canary Wharf - in January we will be moving to Clerkenwell, London - an area buzzing with tech talent and innovative businesses. We'd love to welcome you to our new home at The Winery, 13 - 19 Vine Hill, EC1R 5DW.
